Odd Future Strikes Record Deal ?

"After months of being courted by the music industry’s biggest bosses, word on the curb is Odd Future are staying independent with major backing. I hear the ink ain’t dry but Odd Future Records will sign withRED Distribution/Sony. All acts under one umbrella with the same creative freedom they have now. When pressed for confirmation, manager Chris Clancy sent this statement below." - YN
“It’s based on getting the distribution deal we’ve always envisioned that allows the group to “sign  themselves” to their own company and keep their masters. They will have 100% creative control of all aspects of their music, art, and release schedule with no 3rd party participation in outside business. Freedom and ownership was the whole point. Red and Sony know that its in everyone’s best interest to maintain the group’s authenticity and control. They built it, they deserve it. There’s no cheesy hooks or fluorescent liquor product placements in the works..  It’s about to be fun.. and different.. “

"Welcome to the best of both worlds. Now that Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ are back on the same page, the pair are set to release an EP inspired by their 1999 collaboration, Bad Meets Evil. The project is set to drop on June 14th through Interscope and will feature production from D-12′s Mr. Porter, Havoc, DJ Khalil, Bangladesh and others. Here’s what Em had to say:" - Big Homie
“Royce and I started hanging out again and inevitably that led us back into the studio. At first we were just seeing where it went without any real goal in mind, but the songs started to come together crazy, so here we are.”
As for Royce:
“I’m excited to see this project come to fruition considering the long lapse in time between when we worked before and now. We had a blast doing it and we just hope everyone enjoys it while we’re working on the ‘Monster’ that will be the Slaughterhouse album. #TeamShady”

Lil B Wants $10 Million To Sign

"The Based God was featured in today’s NY Magazine. In the feature, Brandon touches on thecontroversial title, GLAAD’s response, his book and shares what price the major labels need to come up with to sign him." - Big Homie
You’re an independent artist, but if you did go the major-label route, how much would the corporations need to pony up to sign you?
A $10 million deal. Really, though, that’s just for you right now. To put a price on my career and what I do — $10 million is not enough.
So $10 million is where negotiations start. Most likely, it will be higher than $10 million?
Yeah. Way over that. My life’s very important.

Flavor Flav Closing Chicken Spot In Iowa

"After 3 months in business, Flav tells TMZ that as of yesterday he has pulled the license from his chicken restaurant in Clinton, IA due to mismanagement from his business partner. But don’t feel too crispy now,  Flav is planning to open up a new spot, Flavor Flav’s House of Flavor in Vegas soon." - Big Homie
“I had a licensing agreement with Nick Cimino and that’s all we had. It was his business to run from there and the business was not run right. Let me be straight up with you, I went up inside there on April 2 and I found potato salad that expired on February 28. And it’s then when I realized I can’t do business with this man and I really hope no one ate those potatoes.”

Body pulled from the Susquehanna River

Dental record comparison of found body to Phylicia Barnes expected this afternoon

Baltimore police have provided dental records of missing teenager Phylicia Barnes to the state medical examiner's office for comparison to a body pulled from the Susquehanna River, and a determination is expected this afternoon, an official told The Sun.
An apparent tattoo located on a woman's body found north of the Conowingo Dam Wednesday has raised questions over whether the body is that of Barnes, WBAL-TV is reporting.
Barnes had a tattoo of a rose on her lower right leg, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Citing a source, the television station said that the body pulled from the water has a "similar tattoo." Law enforcement authorities told The Sun the report was premature but investigators are exploring the possibility.
Chief Medical Examiner David Fowler declined to comment on preliminary findings and referred questions to state police. But he confirmed to The Sun that police had submitted Barnes' dental records for comparison, which he described as a routine step. "Like in any other case, police have provided dental records for the presumed individual for comparison," Fowler said. "Within the next couple of hours, a forensic orthodontist will do that comparison."
The body was one of two pulled from waters near the Conowingo Dam on Wednesday, prompting immediate speculation that one of them could be that of Barnes, whose disappearance has confounded detectives, family members, friends and strangers.
Police said crews working on the dam reported seeing what appeared to be a man's body floating in the river north of the dam at about 7:30 a.m., and Natural Resources police later recovered the body of a female from the water.
In the afternoon, boaters in the river south of the dam found the body of a man. The bodies were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsies, officials said.
Barnes, a 17-year-old honors student from Monroe, N.C., was visiting her half-sister in Northwest Baltimore for the holidays when she went missing Dec. 28. Police have conducted several large-scale searches - including an April 9 search in Patapsco Valley State Park - but say those efforts and a media blitz have turned up few clues.

Microsoft Windows Phones Built By Nokia Due in 2012

Microsoft and Nokia signed a definitive agreement that seals the dealannounced in February between the two companies, creating a formidable competitor against Google‘s Android and Apple‘s iOS.
Now, Nokia can migrate away from its aging Symbian operating system, embracing the Windows Phone software to create a new ecosystem of Nokia hardware and Microsoft software. The companiesannounced that Nokia-built Windows Phones are already in development, “with the aim of securing volume device shipments in 2012.”
While Nokia engineers are busying themselves creating hardware for the Windows Phone, Microsoft gains the power of Nokia’s mapping and navigation platform, certain to enhance Microsoft’s Bing search engine. Those mapping services will also show up on Nokia phones running Windows Phone, but there was no word about whether those mapping services would also run on Windows Phone handsets not made by Nokia.
What about developers? The companies plan to ease the transition for Symbian developers to move to the Windows phone operating system. According to a Nokia spokesperson (see video below), “All Symbian developers will have a free registration for the next year for the Windows developers program.”
Nokia will also reportedly open a Nokia-branded app store based on the Windows Marketplace infrastructure, where developers will be able to distribute their apps for Windows Phone, Symbian or Series 40 devices.
In our view, this looks like a mutually beneficial relationship, where Microsoft will have a formidable hardware manufacturer and map platform in its camp, while Nokia will gain Microsoft’s resources, including gaming expertise, Windows Phone, Bing search facilities on every smartphone and Microsoft’s vast marketing machine.
Which company do you think got the better end of the deal here?

Apple to Start Shipping the Next iPhone in September

After the rumor that Apple won’t announce the next generation of the iPhone in June or July (which was the case with all previous iPhone announcements), comes a report that the new iPhone is coming in the fall.
Apple’s suppliers will begin production in July, and the finished product is likely to begin shipping in September, Reuters reports, citing sources familiar with the matter.
As for the actual features of the next-gen iPhone, details are scarce as always; one of Reuters’ sources claims the device will look similar to the iPhone 4, but it will feature a faster processor.
To quickly piece together all the iPhone rumors and reports we’ve seen, this is what we have:
  • The white version of the iPhone 4 should become available within two to three weeks.
  • The iPhone 5 (if that’s what Apple will call it) will be an evolutionary upgrade, visually similar to the iPhone 4 but with a better camera, processor and a bigger screen.
    • Take all of these with a grain of salt as Apple has been monolithically silent about the matter, as always.

President Obama Visits Facebook Headquarters

President Barack Obama discussed the economy, technology, innovation and more during a packed town hall Wednesday at Facebook headquarters.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg‘s first question to Obama focused on the economy and how the U.S. will turn things around while bringing down the deficit. He discussed rolling back tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals and cutting the budget to reduce the deficit. “We have a long-term problem with Medicare and Medicaid,” Obama noted, stating that “20% of the patients account for 80% of the cost” of most hospitals.
Most of the time though, Obama addressed questions from the audience, as well as user-submitted questions collected via the web. During this line of questioning, Obama addressed the housing crisis, clean energy research, immigration policy, Medicare and education reform.
Many of the questions came from Facebook employees. One asked Obama about a recent budget proposal from Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan. The employee asked Obama if his budget plan was bold enough. “The Republican budget put forward is fairly radical,” Obama responded. “I wouldn’t call it particuarly courageous,” he added, before continuing with criticism of the viability of Ryan’s plan.
Another question focused on how the government would slow the rise of health care costs. Obama said the government should provide incentives to invest in new IT technology that would reduce costs.
At the end of the town hall meeting, Zuckerberg, who was uncharacteristically wearing a suit coat and tie, presented Obama with a uniform he’s more familiar with: a Facebook hoodie.

Active Twitter Users Have Shorter Relationships (?)

The romantic relationships of active Twitter users apparently don’t last as long as the rest of the population, according to stats published by dating website OkCupid.
The site, which regularly publishes information about dating trends and statistics, has compiled a number of charts about the sexual habits of its millions of users. The website determines dating compatibility based on how users answer thousands of questions.
Among OkCupid‘s findings are two conclusions about Twitter users. The first one: People who use Twitter every day tend to have shorter relationships, and the problem gets worse as a person gets older, according to its analysis of 833,987 OkCupid users. The average relationship for an 18-year-old who uses Twitter is about nine months, while “everybody else” usually has a relationship average of nine-and-a-half months. At age 50, the frequent tweeter has a 15 month-long relationship, while the non-frequent Twitter user stays in a relationship for an average of almost 17 months.
The dating website has another conclusion that is sure to catch some eyeballs. If someone is a frequent tweeter, he or she is more likely to masturbate (or at least report that he or she is masturbating). Based off data from 21,315 users, OkCupid concludes that there is a 2-to-1 chance that someone who tweets daily is masturbating on any given day, a higher chance than everybody else.
OkCupid also published several sex-related correlations and conclusions based on its data, including that GDP has a greater influence on a region’s sexual habits than culture or religion. You can check out the dating site’sblog post for the juiciest bits of data.

(Video) Would You Let Your Boyfriend Do Your Makeup?

Would I allow my boyfriend to give me a massage? Definitely! Paint my toenails? Maybe. Apply my makeup? Say what?!

I may be a bit particular about the way I curl my lashes and add color to my cheeks, but for a few women, their makeup brushes often land in the hands of their boyfriends.

Our friends over at BellaSugar discovered an adorable makeup tutorial video (above) featuring one guy who claims to be an expert at this.

I couldn't help but giggle out loud as Omar haphazardly draws eyeliner on his girlfriend's upper lid, saying "Oooohh, I think I did this wrong thing!" But I give him cool points for knowing concealer corrects dark under-eye circles, his quirky "Boom!" sound effects and his elaborate pressing of the lips after applying pink lipstick.

"I think this sh-t looks good!" he says. And it does!

Fascinated by this wave of boyfriends doing their girlfriend's makeup, I tracked down other eye-opening videos.

Sit back, press play and vote in our poll on whether you'd allow your significant other to help you get pretty.

Good Friday: Origins, Observances And Fasting Rules

Good Friday is the Christian commemoration of Jesus' Passion story; specifically his betrayal, trial and crucifixion that are described in the Christian gospels. In the sequence of Holy Week, it follows the rituals marking the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday and precedes the celebration of Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Since Jewish tradition dictates that Friday begins at sundown on Thursday, the events of Good Friday traditionally begin with the betrayal of Jesus by his apostle Judas in the garden of Gethsemane. He is subsequently brought before the Sanhedrin council, the Roman governor Pontius Pilate and King Herod of Galilee with the ultimate outcome being his condemnation to death by crucifixion.
The trial of Jesus and his crucifixion are described in varying detail by all four canonical Gospels, the Jewish historian Josephus and the Roman writer Tacitus. While the specific events and theological implications are widely disputed, the historicity of the occasion is widely accepted.
Good Friday church services generally revolve around the reading of the Gospel accounts of the Passion story. The Catholic liturgy for Good Friday also includes the distribution of the Eucharist that was consecrated during the Mass on Maundy Thursday and special veneration of the cross by inviting individuals to approach the altar and kiss the wood of the crucifix.
Many Christians also mark Good Friday by participating in or watching processions meant to replicate the journey that Jesus took through the streets of Jerusalem while carrying his cross to the site of his crucifixion at Calvary. Two of the largest and most famous of these occasions are Rome's Way of the Cross that leads to the Colosseum and is presided over by the Pope and the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem -- a procession along the traditionally marked route of Jesus that is attended by thousands of pilgrims each year.
Good Friday is also a day of strict fasting for Catholics and some other Christians. As with all the Fridays of Lent, Catholics are instructed to abstain from eating meat. As with Ash Wednesday, the fasting rules for Good Friday dictate that adherents should eat only one full meal with two smaller meals being permitted as long as no other food is consumed in the interim. The use of other meat-based products such as lard, chicken broth or dairy is not traditionally forbidden, although many individuals elect to make their Good Friday meals entirely vegetarian or vegan.
In many countries with strong Christian traditions such as those in Latin America, Good Friday is observed as a national holiday. Good Friday is not a federal holiday in the United States, but several states observe it as an official state holiday by closing government offices, courts and banks. Many private businesses also choose to close on Good Friday in addition to financial markets.

LITTLETON, Colo. -- Investigators want to question a person of interest about a pipe bomb and propane tanks found after a fire at a Littleton mall, a discovery that raised the possibility of a connection to the Columbine massacre anniversary.

NFL schedule: Top 10 games of 2011

Let's hope NFL players and owners can come to some sort of labor agreement so that the 2011 regular season will go on as planned, because there is plenty of thrilling action scheduled.
Here are the top 10 must-see games for 2011:
1. Saints at Packers (Week 1, Sept. 8, 8 p.m. ET, NBC). The NFL is a passing league, and both teams have proved why it's important to have an elite quarterback. It doesn't get better than the past two Super Bowl MVPs, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers dueling on opening night. It's also important that this first game of the season is an exciting, offensive-minded matchup to help appease fans after a trying offseason of labor pains.
2. Giants at Jets (Week 16, Dec. 24, 1 p.m. ET, FOX). Ten years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, it's fitting the league's two New York teams are scheduled to play on Christmas Eve. Although the Giants will play at the Redskins on Sept. 11 to memorialize the actual anniversary date in Week 1, this matchup packs a little more on-field punch. Expect a poignant pre-game ceremony to match the magnitude of a critical interconference clash.
3. Colts at Patriots (Week 13, Dec. 4, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). This former AFC East matchup has become the league's premier rivalry, thanks to another marquee passing duel: Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady. In the previous decade from '01-'10, the Patriots won the first six meetings and eight of 13 overall, including playoffs. The Colts have won five of the past seven, including going 2-1 at Foxborough.
4. Ravens at Steelers (Week 9, Nov. 6, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). As the Ravens get closer to getting the better of the Steelers in the playoffs, the team is like what the Red Sox once were to the Steelers' Yankees -- until Boston finally broke through to the World Series in 2004. With every near-miss in this physically demanding series, the intensity grows for the hardnosed Ravens. The tone will be set by the winner of their Week 1 matchup.
5. Eagles at Falcons (Week 2, Sept. 18, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). As much as the Falcons have enjoyed a return to success the past three years with Matt Ryan, the quarterback he replaced, Michael Vick, still has plenty of fans in Georgia. The environs have some lukewarm pro sports fans, but you can bet Vick's return to the dome will be the hottest ticket in Hotlanta this fall.
6. Patriots at Jets (Week 10, Nov. 13, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). Rex Ryan isn't crazy about the Pats, and Brady despises the Jets -- and the fire turned into an inferno last season after New England rolled to a division title only to swallow a tough home upset against New York in the playoffs. The Jets will look to do better than Sunday night of Week 13 last season, when the Pats romped, 45-3.
7. Eagles at Giants (Week 11, Nov. 20, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). Every game in this division rivalry has playoff implications with potential for a wild finish -- such as the DeSean Jackson punt return touchdown that gave Philadelphia a big win in New York last Dec. 19. There's a good chance these teams will be 1-2 in the NFC East race again, with this game likely determining the division winner.
8. Bears at Packers (Week 16, Dec. 25, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). This is a nice Christmas Sunday stocking stuffer, but don't expect the league's oldest rivals to exchange presents -- just plenty of body blows. The Bears still have a bittersweet taste after winning the NFC North last season, only to see Green Bay beat them in the NFC title game on its way to winning the Super Bowl.
9. Colts at Saints (Week 7, Oct. 23, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). Five of the past seven Super Bowl matchups are on the schedule, including Manning vs. Brees here. In addition to New Orleans getting a chance to build on its Super Bowl XLIV glory, Manning goes back to his hometown dome, where he threw six TD passes in 2003.

10. Jets at Cowboys (Week 1, Sept. 11, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC).
Despite coming off a down year, Dallas is still America's Team, a worthy opponent for the Jets' season-opening 9/11 game. It's also a good mix of glitz and grit, as it features both photogenic quarterbacks (Tony Romo and Mark Sanchez) and clever defensive-scheming brothers (Rex and Rob Ryan).
